Legends Beneath the Waves Vol. 3: Palau, Guam & Marianas
Coming 2019
The waters around the Marianas Islands was a battleground of epic intensity during World War Two. Huge armadas swept through here and hundreds of submarines slipped beneath the waves hunting their prey. The islands in this area also played host to some of the most savage amphibious invasions in history. Peleliu, Saipan and Guam were intense battles and the wreckage of them is still evident to this day. Today Palau, Guam and the Northern Marianas Islands are vacation paradises with warm water and idyllic tropical beaches. However beneath those warm waters are the graves of thousands of men. Hundreds of ships and planes are sitting under the waves, torn apart by battle and frozen in time. This is the story of those wrecks. From when they ruled the waves and skies, to when they went to the bottom, this book tells their accounts in a fast paced narrative format. It also describes these wrecks today and how to explore them. Full of stunning images of the wrecks today, and historic photos from the past, this is the story of these legends beneath the waves.
